INDUSTRIAL DISPLAY

LCD monitors which are commonly used by most of us as computer peripheral equipment, laptop monitor or as television display is extensively used in various other sectors. They not only serve as computer display unit but they also serve as a display unit in various other situations receiving inputs from a variety of sources including surveillance cameras. If we have to list all the areas where industrial displays are used, we will be surprised to see a large list. These industrial display units are very different from the display units that we use for domestic purposes.

Industrial display units are also called as rugged displays or rugged monitors because of the nature of their design and their use. These displays have to endure high level of wear and tear. Industrial display units accept input from various image sources and hence they are used for a variety of purposes. Originally, all industrial displays were traditional CRT monitors and with the advent of LCD monitors, CRT displays lost their market. Soon CRT monitors will become an obsolete product at least with respect to industrial usage. There are many reasons why LCD monitors are preferred to CRT display units for both domestic and industrial environments. One of the major problems of CRT displays is its size. It is too bulky and if we have bigger display requirements then the size of the entire unit becomes too big and they occupy a lot of space whereas, LCD displays are slim and they do not occupy a lot of space. It is possible to get large LCD displays without increasing the bulkiness of the unit.
